Mine is a '98 from when I had my lawn service. We have lots of trees to cut around but I still wanted a tractor to use for other things besides mowing. For that reason I traded my zero turn for an all wheel steer John Deere. I've been planting allot of trees on the new place and have decided that I'm going to need a better lawn mower soon. Good luck, you will love it!!! He wouldn't consider another brand.
You are going to spend hours on your mower … zero turn rider and surfer mowers are easier on your joints and allow you to finish the job faster! I went with a John Deere X, which has the 4 wheel steeriing. I don't know much about the small hustlers but if you look at a Home owner series Deere like the Z and Z they are pretty good mowers. But mine is 11 years old and still going strong. If you mow more often like you are suppose to when you mulch, grass on top of the lawn won't be an issue. I have had 5 exmarks, they are great, but am fed up with local dealer so next one will be a hustler.
Need to replace my Zero turn mower [Archive] - ivyreads.info - the RTF
I mowed commercially for about 10 years and have used almost every mower out there at one time or another. They built the irrigation canals off the river in 3 weeks. I cut 15 acres with a Skag Turf Tiger 61 ". Had some short light grass that it naturally handled no probs at full speed. I got a steal of a deal on a Dixie Chopper last year. When I first started using it, I'd push the pedal so hard it would go to transport position.
Quite often we do use the mower to transport from trailer to site for cutting, then back. Exmark or Scag would be my top pick. I had to get one she could mow with, went with the Xmark. FC Phil T , Info so far has been great guys - thanks. Thanks for all that can help!!
